Dear TLC Family,
This newsletter we want to focus on an incredible fundraiser that our volunteer, Nancy, pulled together in just 4 days! She hosted a USED BOOKS FUNDRAISER and it was a success. The fundraiser cost her virtually nothing, required just a few hours, and was super easy to put together. We're so inspired that we wanted to share with all of you, so that you too can host a fundraiser for TEAM TLC-NYC.
STEP 1: GATHER THESE SUPPLIES:

signs
table
display boxes/containers
STEP 2: (4 days out) Put out a request for donations of used books and games. I limited the games to board games, puzzles, and small items.
STEP 3: (1-2 days out) Create a digital flyer with the event info, who it’s benefitting (Team TLC NYC!), time and location. Post the flyer in local Facebook parent groups. Have friends share. Create some signs to hang at the event.
STEP 4: (The day of) I showed up at the park early to collect items. After setting up, I took photos of the setup and sent them to a friend, who posted them along with an announcement in our FB group. Everything was offered on a ‘whatever you want to donate’ basis and there were jars with signs encouraging donations. The best items that didn’t sell were sold in bundles in our Facebook group afterwards and the others were dropped off at a local charity store.
Nancy (nacespace@gmail.com) said she’s glad to share and customize flyers and announcements for anyone else who wants to host a fundraiser!

DONATION CIRCLES
We are working to build “donation circles” — a group of people who can commit to helping with donations for one family for the winter season. If you are interested in taking part in organizing donations, please email Virginia at TEAMTLCNYC@gmail.com.
