Dear friends,
We hope that you and your family are staying safe. Thank you for supporting this work. In light of COVID-19, our priority is now to support 5 asylum-seeking families. Here are our UPDATES:
+ All families have received homemade masks for adults and kids (over 2) from a generous donor who drove to each residence and personally delivered them ... THAT is TLC!
+ A registry for "R" was created; we were also able to organized the receipt of 20 meals per week for him and the family he is renting from, thanks to the nonprofit 501c3 Transfernation.
+ Our team rallied to provide "D+A" with a much-needed grocery order. Transfernation will also provide them with 14 meals per week. We have plans in the works for assistance for them with their daily routine, school assistance for "A" and emotional support for both.
+ A family of 6 is receiving a bulk order of wholesale food staples -- rice, beans, milk, juice. A team member is safekeeping backup supplies (generous donations from Park Slope Moms) for them at her house after delivering them cleaning supplies last week!
+ Families with children are getting support around schooling -- assistance getting tablets from their schools and implementing support for specific educational needs.
+ Families are receiving something fun and diverting, whether it's an adult coloring book, painting supplies, makeup, or English workbooks.
